The body– particularly the nude–defined Renoir’s artistic practice, from student days to the early 20th century, and at the centenary of his death, the Clark Art Institute and the Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth, Texas, present the first major exploration of his interest in the human form, as his style moved from Realism into Impressionism and modern classicism. The opening lecture is on June 8. Also Canadian artist Janet Cardiff’s sound installation “The Forty Part Motet” unwinds Thomas Tallis’s 16th-century choral work Spem in allium (hope in any other).
