The Pequot Library Art Show, in its 22nd year, had over 320 submissions—a record number. Several of the submissions caught the eye of juror Lisa Cooper of Elisa Contemporary Art. The show’s theme, Art Libris, has brought in an exciting range of mixed media art using junk mail (as seen above in The Freshmaker, Aurora Robson, Ink and Junk Mail on Paper), newspaper, mixed media, photography, and books. “We are also receiving art that is accessible to all—as shown by Michael Kolitsky’s Cube of Poetry sculpture, which has translated poetic text into Braille for blind patrons. It is extremely exciting to be part of this art exhibit and interact with such a dynamic range of work,” says Cooper. The art is on view from October 19 through October 27, 2020 at Pequot Library in Southport.
