Good News Café, now known as Good News Restaurant & Bar, Is exactly as it’s always been: spectacular. For 24 years Carole Peck has been serving comfort food at the highest level. As one of the early trailblazers in the farm to table movement, she has created amazing food in every category—from appetizers to main courses to irresistible desserts.
Choose your spot, front dining room to the left, with the inviting bar or room to the right decorated with shelves of vintage radios. Service and food are impeccable in both.
There are too many dishes to list but some of the highlights include crab taco corn tortillas with smoked tomatillo relish; cauliflower crust pizza with eggplant, tomato, farmers cheese, and arugula; 25 years “always good” wok seared shrimp with green beans, peas, olives, roasted peppers, potatoes, and garlic aioli; Branzino bass filet, served with Persian rice, grilled squid, fennel, micro-greens, and naval orange vinaigrette. Whether you are going for the first time or the tenth, Henry’s organic roasted half chicken accompanied by buttermilk mashed and wok veggies is never to be missed. And sweets, of course: apple cranberry tart; almond cake; Blackout Cake; or a chocolate mousse layer cake confection will complete the meal.
