From traffic to policy pronouncements, Connecticut State Sen. Bob Duff has built a social-media presence that springs him into the realm of leading local influencer. We sat down for a chat.
Describe yourself in 140 characters. // I love Norwalk. I’m fifth generation, and passionate about the job I have and the people I serve. I’m passionate about the state and very fortunate to be in this job.
What is your favorite social media platform? // Facebook, but Twitter is fun.
What was the greatest number of likes on one of your posts? // When I endorsed Mayor Pete [Buttigieg] I had over 4,000 likes. My phone and my watch were all going crazy. And on Facebook, when my last dog Riley passed away, I had over 2,000. That was overwhelming really.
Who is your favorite person to follow? // Well I like following Mayor Pete on Twitter. When I put something out there for Mayor Pete, his supporters put that all over the country. It’s a two-way conversation, not just a one-way conversation.
What emoji do use the most? // The cake for happy birthday.
Face recognition or password? // Password. I hope this doesn’t mean someone will hack into my account.
Five favorite apps? // Twitter, Facebook, NextDoor, LinkedIn, Snapchat, and Instagram.
Does your dog Molly have her own account? // She has her own Facebook page — Jackie Lightfield
