Editor’s Pick–Vedas Indian Cuisine
Vedas Indian Cuisine has become one of Norwalk’s most popular havens for high-quality Indian food. And now, with a new chef and the same array of fresh ingredients with a homestyle touch, Vedas has a second location, in Westport.
Owners Dipika Behera and Jaiprakash Agarwal (JP), husband and wife restaurateurs from Mumbai, have steadily made their mark on the Connecticut food scene. From former Chili Chicken and now Tawa in Stamford, and Kebab Factory here in Norwalk, they’ve tapped the pulse of the growing demand for diversity and flavor.
In addition to opening a new location, Vedas has recently expanded its take-out and delivery options with UberEats, DoorDash, and Grubhub. Both Vedas locations offer some seating, but the upgraded take-out and delivery options allow more people to get their hands on their amazing menu when space or time may be a challenge.
Recently working with Chef Peter Beck, the one-time James Beard Top Chef and Michelin star trailblazer, just may have amplified things at Vedas another notch as well. Originally from New Delhi, Beck is known for electrifying the Indian Cuisine scene in New York City with restaurants Tamarind and Benares and is now breathing his tasty fairy dust on the menu at Vedas. From the butter shrimp and fresh naan to the samosas and cool raita, these dishes open up every sense. With Beck’s particular expertise with vegetarian and seafood dishes, both locations of Vedas will surely please the growing palates of Norwalk and Westport.
